I will ask you many questions so it is only fair you know a bit about me.
I was born and raised in Melbourne. After completing my VCE, I went straight into medicine at Monash University where I graduated in 1996 with honours and received the Roger Powell prize for medicine and surgery.
My residency was completed at Alfred Hospital and I commenced my cardiology training there. As part of my training, I was the cardiology registrar at Frankston Hospital for 6 months. It was then that I fell in love with the Mornington Peninsula and found myself a new home. At that stage, I fell in love with my wife (Idit) and got married. Then life got busy.
I performed specialist training in echocardiography (cardiac ultrasound) and earned the Diploma of Diagnostic Ultrasound through The Australasian Society of Ultrasound in Medicine.
My passion lay in percutaneous coronary intervention (angioplasty and stenting). I traveled to Canada and spent the better part of two years training in the latest techniques. I was awarded a training certificate in percutaneous coronary intervention and also received my Fellowship of The Royal Australasian College of Physicians. Canada was fantastic but cold!!!! I therefore returned to Australia and set up practice on the Mornington Peninsula.
I work at all the private hospitals in the area and at Frankston Hospital. My main interest in angioplasty and stenting but I am trained in all areas of cardiology.
The best thing of all happened this year. Idit and I had our first baby – a daughter called Ellie Jade. If you want, I can show you a photo.
I still continue to keep my skills up to date participating in research and going to conferences to learn the latest skills from around the world.
Let me know how I can be of assistance to you and your family anytime.
